David Eddie, Ph.D., A.B.A.P.

Principal Investigator

Dr. David Eddie is the Associate Director of Clinical Translational Recovery Science a researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Recovery Research Institute, and a faculty member of the Centers for Addiction Medicine and Digital Mental Health. He is also a clinical psychologist in Massachusetts General Hospital’s Department of Psychiatry, an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, and is board certified in addiction psychology.
 
His research seeks to better understand the psychological and psychophysiological causes and conditions that lead to people becoming addicted to alcohol and other drugs, and how these factors can also maintain addiction. He uses this knowledge to develop and study novel treatments for substance use disorder.

Marina Nguyen, B.A.

Research Coordinator

Marina Nguyen is a clinical research coordinator for the Recovery Research Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital. She graduated from Boston University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Health Science. 

Marina is the lead research coordinator for our current NIDA-funded clinical trial of Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback for substance use disorder.

Katherine ‘Kitty’ Zeng, B.A.

Research Coordinator

Katherine Zeng is a clinical research coordinator for the Recovery Research Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital. She graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she received her bachelor’s degree in computer science and neuroscience.

Katherine leads our NIAAA-funded study aimed at better understanding psychophysiological and affective factors underpinning substance use disorder with the goal of developing a novel mobile health intervention for relapse prevention.

Aubrey Best

Research Assistant
(Northeastern University)

Aubrey is a 3rd year undergraduate student at Northeastern University studying Behavioral neuroscience and french.

After graduation, she plans to attend medical school and become a neurologist or obstetrician.

Tracy Lam

Research Assistant
(Tufts University)

Tracy is a 5th year undergraduate student at Tufts University studying biopsychology and fine arts.

She plans to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology after graduation.
